With the important ‘O’ Levels examinations less than 24, 21, 18, 15, 12 11 months away (not to mention the Performance-Indicating Mid-Year Exams which tests you on everything in your 4 years of secondary school syllabus), many students are still facing the challenge of passing their Chemistry papers, not to mention scoring A1. Among this group of students, they are the hardworking ones who do not seem to get what they deserve, no matter how much effort they put into studying of Chemistry.

Many of these students have also attended weekly lessons in tuition centres where they spent time every week doing lots of worksheets and homework. Now, this is the misconception that many parents have – Note that DOING MORE WORKSHEETS & HOMEWORK DOES NOT MEANS YOUR CHILD GOING TO DO WELL FOR CHEMISTRY EXAMS.

The main reason for many students is due to the Weak Foundation in their Basic Essential Concepts and the Lack of Ability to Link Concepts to Application of Problem Solving in exams.

To be able to do really well in Chemistry, you must first have a Solid Foundation of your Essential Concepts of most which are covered in Sec 3s syllabus. A good grasp of the chemistry essential concepts for Sec 3s topics is necessary to accelerate your understanding of the Application Topics (Sec 4s syllabus) much easily. Secondly, you must have Effective and Easy strategies to link the chemistry concepts to the application questions so that you can score in exams by answering to the questions within the time frame.
