Is your child’s chemistry results dropping 2 to 3 grades and you are totally clueless despite them going for teacher consultation or attending tuition classes?
This is due to a few reasons:
- The topics in Chemistry are closely interlinked. Once your child cannot understand a concept and he does not get it clarified, it will affect all the upcoming topics
- The weighted assessment (WA) and no mid year exam system. Your child is tested on 2 – 3 topics every few months so most students can scrape through with B or C grades which is a mild warning sign already…
The final year exam consists of questions from the entire year and it is not surprising when each question can be linked to 2 to 3 topics. Unless your child has crystal clear understanding of every single topic, he will not be able to cope with these higher order thinking questions which are getting more popular in school exams and O Levels.
Since the mid year exam is abolished, the challenges your child faces in Chemistry are snowballed to their final year exam.
Many students are still adopting the “memorize and regurgitate” method which worked for them in their lower secondary but is no longer effective at upper secondary as we dive deeper into the concepts and the questions are more application based i.e less straightforward, more analytical.
If your child chooses to learn Chemistry like what they have been doing in the past year …
They will be in for a shock in Sec 4 where these topics are linked back to their Sec 3 and their school teachers will be teaching like a bullet train to complete the syllabus so they do not have time to return to these core Sec 3 topics.
Your child will find studying Chemistry an uphill task. They will get stressed, especially when they have to balance with 7 to 8 other subjects and the pressure leading up to their O Levels.
No matter how hard they work, they just can’t seem to understand what is being taught and worse still, they cannot answer the questions because they do not know how to apply i.e They answer structured questions in their own language instead of crafting using the right keywords.
To help Sec 3 students cope with the challenges above, we have developed our 5 Pillars Chemistry Revision Program before they start their Sec 4 syllabus:
- Chemical Bonding
- Acids
- Bases
- Preparation of Salts
- Mole
Our students will enjoy an unfair advantage over their peers since Mr Sean Chua is the 10 Year Series author and is very familiar with the exam trends and examiners requirement.
Unlike other teachers, he will be using everyday life analogies so that your child truly understands in depth and not by memorising or surface reading.
He will also be discussing the thinking process of solving the structure questions, how he uses his BAM™ technique to craft the keywords in his answers.
To ensure that your child is given sufficient attention, we are limiting the 5 Pillars Chemistry Revision Program to 28 onsite students only.
For example, an organic chemistry question could have multiple questions of different topics (which I thought was random). However, through Mr Chua’s clear, logical and concise notes, teachings and explanations, I find myself having more fun than stress learning Chemistry. Really thankful for Mr Chua for changing my perspective of Chemistry.

Ngo Zun Yin, Gan Eng Seng School
Consistently achieved 80+%, L1R5 = 3. Admitted into 1st choice – RI.Mr Chua was recommended to me by a friend who knows many tuition agencies as a caring and dedicated tutor who really helped his students improve. My son doesn’t like tuition generally but finds Mr Chua’s lessons interesting. He even recommended his elder brother doing A level Chem to attend the lessons, and my elder son found it very useful too. Will recommend to all my friends

Eileen Yee, Mother of Luke Yang, ACSI
My daughter has been attending Sean’s class since Sec 3 and i observed that she has gained much confidence in Chemistry. She looks forward to attending the class as the sessions are engaging. Apart from classroom learning, she is also able to consult Sean through WhatsApp. This definitely helped in her learning and she has obtained consistently good results. I highly recommend the centre for Chemistry tuition.

Stacey, Mother of Heidi Ng, St Theresa Convent
Consistently achieved A1 grade for O Level Pure Chemistry after joining Winners.Sean is very enthusiastic in teaching. He makes Chemistry learning interesting and is able to maintain the intriguing level with the students. The kids have learnt a lot from him and are more confident with Chemistry now. They have done well in the subject and look forward to attend his lessons every week.

Mrs Sim, Mother of Carmen, Christy, Christopher, Clement & Clarence
Consistently achieved A grade for O Level & H2 Chemistry after joining Winners.“Mr Chua’s effective audience engagement grabbed my attention throughout the workshop. Despite the long duration of the workshop, my mind wasn’t given the chance to wander. I find that I much better appreciate and enjoy Chemistry and actually look forward to learning more. It doesn’t matter what anyone’s standard is at, just about anyone can learn something here.”

Bernadette Fong, CHIJ St. Theresa’s Convent
A1 for O-Level Pure Chemistry“She can understand your lesson very well and for the first time, she says she likes Chemistry. Thank you for rekindling her interest in Chemistry. She has also expressed her interest in the weekly class.”

Mr Cher, Father of Cher Yi Jia, Nan Hua High School
D7 to A2 in 4 months!“I feel that the O-Level Chemistry lessons have been very effective and has helped to grasp the basics of Chemistry and letting me realise that it is actually quite easy and I hope that this programme will be carried on for future years. I also find Mr Chua an effective and dedicated teacher, even staying back after class to help me.”

Ethan Lim, St Joseph Institution
C6 to A1 grade in 3 months!“Clear explanations allow certain confusing concepts to be understood a lot better than before, as well as flowcharts provided with all the important things we need to know. I feel that I am much clearer about the concepts and can tackle this topic more confidently. Before this workshop, I hated Chemistry, but now I’m starting to feel that it’s not so bad. I would recommend this workshop to my friends.”

Jesslyn Wong, Raffles Girls’ Secondary School
45% to 76.25% for Year 4 IP Chemistry in 4 Months!“The workshop was very effective. Mr Chua was very clear and concise in his explanations of Chemistry Concepts, especially helpful with the Equation Writing & Mole Calculations. Mr Chua has made Chemistry easier to understand with his analogies and more concrete/logical reasoning in chemistry questions. Overall, it was a very conducive and productive use of time. Thank you Mr Chua. Your coaching helped immensely! ”

Lee Jiayu Sherri, Methodist Girl’s School
F9 to A1 grade“I scored an A1 because you told us that it’s not all about doing practices as much as understanding the subject so I think that built up my foundation of Chemistry and that is what made me feel confident about myself when I was doing the O-Level examinations.”

Bryan Ong, Zhong Hua Secondary School
A1 for O Level Pure Chemistry“Hi Sean! Dranette scored an A2! A vast improvement from D7 during last mid year!! ? We are proud of her achievement and would like to sincerely thank you for your guidance!! She intends to take up either Veterinary or Nursing course at polytechnic.”

Mrs Loo, Mother of Dranette Loo, Yishun Town Secondary School
D7 to A2 in 4 months!“Your lessons somehow kindled my interest in Chemistry for me. For someone with consistent fails in sec 3, to constant As in sec 4, the change is miraculous! I can’t exactly pinpoint what changed my mindset but now I find myself enjoying Chemistry. Sean Chua is clear and concise, clearing up many doubts. Not to be overly dramatic but this might have changed my life as I now consider Chemistry as a possible JC course. Fantastic O-Level Chemistry tuition that changed my whole outlook on Chemistry, making it one of my favourite subjects!”
